Vodka Redbull has same effect as cocaine says study
Vodka Redbull could be having the same effect on your brain that cocaine does.
The cocktail combination of a Vodka Redbull drink is already widely known to be an unhealthy drink.
It also happens to be a favourite combination for ‘schnarfers.’
Now a study proves that a big part of the reason why you can’t stop drinking this toxic mix is because it actually affects you in the same way that cocaine does.
After reading this you might want to come up with a new cocktail idea for your nights out. Or maybe not if that’s you intention.
This new study was carried out by researchers at the Purdue University. Two groups of mice were given cocaine and caffeine mixed with alcohol, respectively. After the doses, they found that the mice not only behaved similarly, but also suffered similar permanent brain damage.
Brain damage is what you are potentially risking when drinking a Vodka Redbull.
“It seems the two substances (high energy drinks and alcohol) together push them over a limit that causes changes in their behaviour and changes the neurochemistry in their brains,” said Dr. Richard van Rijn, who is one of the leading authors behind the study.
They also found that mice that were given the alcohol and caffeine mix presented a mild tolerance to cocaine in their adult years.
A point that the study didn’t reflect on is the combination of Vodka Redbull with actual cocaine use at nightclubs.
This is something that happens at almost every single electronic dance music event you go to. The mixture of these three stimulatory substances and the subsequent overload of stimulation can only have harmful effects on your physical and mental health.
It would be great to see more research done on the effects of dangerous drink cocktails such as the Vodka Redbull and other caffeine and alcohol combination drinks.
Just drink Vodka. It’s healthier.
