Ultra SA 2016 Details Announced plus 2015 Aftermovie
Ultra South Africa 2016 returns next year with some big new changes on the horizon.
Ultra Cape Town
Firstly Ultra Cape Town will no longer be at the Ostrich Farm as before. Next year will be hosted at the River Club in Observatory which they say can hold up to 20,000 people.
And they’re not lying…
Many moons ago, in the mid 90’s when most ‘Ultranauts’ were either in nappies or still a distant thought, there was a massive New Years Eve rave called Synergy with around 8 dancefloors at the River Club and that worked pretty well.
Nonetheless the Ultra Facebook page has been inundated with complaints about the change of venue. It seems everybody had become quite fond of the Ostrich Farm.
Parking could be a bit of a nightmare – just imagine 20,000 party animals roaming the streets of Obz… afterwards. But it is very central and hey…. You can Uber to Ultra for ½ the price you paid before!
Ultra Cape Town will now take place on a Sunday – another change that seems to have upset ‘Ultranauts’ in Cape Town.
Sunday parties are kif ek se! (Cape Town lingo for ‘it’s cool man!’)…
It also gives everybody a chance to experience the entire event, as opposed to getting there in the afternoon. Many ‘Ultranauts’ bunked school to get to the Cape Town event early – now that can do it legit!
Joburg ‘Ultranauts’ will be stoked.
The event venue is still the EXPO Centre at Nasrec but there are now two events.
Yup you read correct – Friday 26th and Saturday 27th will both play host to Ultra South Africa so – just like a rock concert – you can either go on Friday or Saturday to see your favourite EDM superstar DJ.
Ultra 2015 officially became the largest electronic music festival in African history. Attendance records were broken with an increase of 20% over 2014 – the promoters must be smiling!
ULTRA South Africa have timed their 2016 announcement cleverly to coincide with the release of their official aftermovie for 2015.
Watch the aftermovie in 4k containing two exclusive id tracks from Martin Garrix . It’s definitely one of the best aftermovies we’ve seen locally.
