Ultra Music Festivals around the globe had a tough week
Its hiccups all round for Ultra Music Festivals around the globe.
Let’s start from the beginning and probably the most serious fumble that is Ultra Miami sitting without a venue.
Towards the end of September, Miami held a council meeting and unanimously decided to vote down the contract between Ultra and Bayfront Park, their beloved venue.
Despite the millions pledged and the massive revenue such a festival brings, the positive is outweighed by the traffic, noise and setup time negatives.
Time will tell where Ultra Miami, the flagship of the Ultra brand, will call home.
Debacle number two is about the year-and-a-half long legal battle between Ultra Europe and Adria MM Productions, which finally concluded last week.
In 2013 when Ultra Europe was started, they enlisted Adria MM Productions to promote Ultra Europe.
However, AMM has claimed that Ultra Miami’s parent company, Worldwide Entertainment Group, has taken advantage of AMM through an unfavourable contract.
Both in the wrong
In a humorous twist of events, the court ruled both parties to be in the wrong. WEG was ordered to pay AMM $866,000 in damages while ordering AMM to pay WEG $366,211 for damages from breach of contract.
The last blow comes from Ultra Mexico, which took place this past weekend; let’s just say fans weren’t raving about the event…
It all started when they had to announce a delay in the opening times, which was due to severe weather.
But then attendees felt the stage incomplete, lacking the U synonymous with all Ultra stages. This was reportedly fixed by day 2 of the event.
The festival was also a cashless payment system, but unfortunately for everyone it was down leaving attendees unable to make purchases or get a refund.
Naturally dismayed attendees took to social media to, well express their dismay, which you can read below.

Ultra Music Festivals have been knocked down a few times now, on a global scale; will they rise above? Only time will tell.
