Ultra Music Festival most life-changing festival since Woodstock, survey says
A survey shows Ultra Music Festival to be the most life-changing modern festival.
Music festivals have the power to change lives. There’s just something magical about sharing the music you love with thousands (even hundreds of thousands) of stranger’s and friend’s. It’s an escape to a fairy tale world with a kick-ass sound track.
A recent survey conducted by Cloud Cover Music set out to find the most life-changing festivals, with Ultra taking the top spot in terms of modern festivals, behind the legendary Woodstock of ’69.
This is extremely interesting information, considering the vast array of festivals speckled across the globe.
Cloud Cover surveyed 665 festivalgoers, asking them questions like which one was your favourite and did it change your life?
63% of respondents agreed that a music festival permanently changed their lives.
Top 10 life-changing festivals:
- Woodstock ’69: 82.4%
- Ultra: 78.4%
- Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) 74.5%
- Burning Man: 73.4%
- Austin City Limits: 66.1%
- Coachella: 63.0%
- Lollapalooza: 56.6%
- Bonaroo: 55.8%
- South by Southwest (SXSW): 54.7%
- Warped Tour: 43.8%
Ultra SA 2019 was booming
The Cloud Cover survey is seemingly from an American viewpoint about American festivals however; interestingly Ultra SA 2019 smashed their attendance record for this year’s extravaganza.
50, 000 excited electronic music lovers streamed through the gates at the Ostrich Ranch, and Nasrec over the weekend of 1 March, making Ultra South Africa 2019 the biggest Ultra South Africa the country has seen.
This begs the question of whether South African festivalgoers might agree with the Cloud Cover Survey in the USA in crowning Ultra Music Festival (USA, SA or any other country) the most life-changing festival.
