Tycho’s Forecast app designs playlists based on weather
Tycho’s Forecast app playlists can be listened to via Spotify or Apple Music.
Weather undoubtedly influences your mood, which in turn influences what you listen to. Have you ever typed in “Music for a rainy-day playlist” on YouTube?
Well, with the Forecast app, you won’t even have to search for music to fit your emotional climate.
Developed by accomplished producer Tycho and Lee Martin, Forecast turns your weather into a playlist.
It uses the Dark Sky api to pinpoint your local weather conditions which it then relates to audio features, resulting in weather-based playlist curation to fit the sky’s mood, listenable via Spotify or Apple Music.
For example, a gusty day may curate a playlist with tracks of a higher tempo with a rainy day curating the blues.

“Happy to announce the release of Forecast, a web app developed by @leemartin & designed by myself. The app connects you to the themes, visuals, and sounds of Weather by generating original playlists coordinated with local weather conditions ☀️ 🌧 ☁️,” Tycho shared on Twitter.
The launch of the app coincides beautifully with the release of Tycho’s latest album, WEATHER, which is was released last month and greeted to immediate international acclaim.
The album features the acclaimed singles “Easy,” “Japan,” and “Pink & Blue,” all available for individual streaming and download. You can also view an array of official companion videos and lyric visualizers at the official Tycho YouTube channel.
