Trace presents first annual Roots Music Festival
Trace is to host the Roots music festival and plans on this inaugural event to be an annual festival.
The first Roots music festival will be held on Saturday, 4 November at Joziburg Lane in central Johannesburg.
Considering the name, Roots is a celebration of African music; but that’s not all. The event, which boasts over 30 acts, will also offer food, art and lifestyle all of the same tone- Africa.
With superstars Kwesta and Sjava headlining the Roots music festival, along with supportive acts of urban African greatness, Roots will undoubtedly bring the groove.
Some supporting artists include Gemini Major, DJ Slige, Sho Madjozi, Frank Casino, J Molley, I See A Different You, and Gqom connoisseur DJ Sandiso, among many others.
Trace your roots
Roots music festival aims at giving attendees an explorative experience of both the TRACE brand and the African continent.
They will also host the Abantu Book Festival, where you can learn more about African literature.
Don’t fret about getting hungry while exploring as their carefully selected vendors will be looking after your taste buds as they take you on a journey across the continent.
Roots – in its entirety – will be a physical manifestation of what TRACE stands for, says TRACE Southern Africa’s Senior Vice-President, Leo Manne: “We have wanted to celebrate the vibrancy of our audience, both on the continent and in the diaspora for a very long time, honouring their diversity and urban cool.
“Roots is about coming home, we want everyone to feel like they have finally found a space that truly belongs to them.”
Tickets are R200 a pop at Webtickets, with Roots opening its doors from 14:00- 00:00 on Saturday, 4 November at Joziburg Lane.
