The Smoking Dragon New Year’s Eve Festival 2015 will be happening at the Amphitheatre Backpackers Lodge in the Northern parts of the Drakensberg.
The Smoking Dragon New Year’s Eve party is a family friendly event that has been put together with safety, good music, and a picturesque atmosphere in mind. The New Year’s festival has been going for the past four years is the ideal kind of party for conscious festival goers.
DC Breaks, a UK drum & bass duo will be headlining the event which features some leading local performers too such as The Kiffness, Haezer, BOO!, Majozi, Das Kapital, Household Funk, Zebra & Giraffe, Albert Frost, BCUC, and more.
If you’re in the mood to chill out you could hang out at the pool, go hot air ballooning, or even mountain biking.

For the price of your ticket you have access to free camping, a kids’ zone, a river, clean toilets, and a view of the Amphitheatre all the way to Cathkin Peak. If you’d like to stay in the Amphitheatre Backpacker’s Lodge campground it will cost R135 per night. For that cost you will be able to access the restaurant, bar, free sauna, Jacuzzi, bouldering cave, internet cafe, and rock pool.
