The Gathering festival could be the worst event ever held
The Gathering Festival did nothing but bring people together in misery.
Who would have thought that 2017 would provide us with a more disappointing festival than Fyre Festival?
Evidently the year is not done with us as it brought the dismally disappointing joke of a party, The Gathering.
I feel that promoters prey on a name like ‘The Gathering’ as it gives off this vibe of being super connected, but in actual fact is just means to take people money in exchange for nothing.
The event was held by EDM United Events in Charleston, South Carolina and attendees paid an appalling $130 for a ticket, considering what they got.
This is a case of expectations vs reality going horribly wrong, even unrecognizable.
Going South
The beautiful Gathering of liked-minded people dancing to solid beat ended up looking like a festival run by kids.
Attendees were promised 4 stages being rocked by a lineup featuring ATLiens, Leah Culver and many more as well as face-melting lighting, décor and a monster rig.
I mean, for $130 you’d expect an epic production. To put it into perspective, tickets to Boom Festival are around 175 Euros, which isn’t THAT much more considering what you get from Boom.
The stage production of The Gathering consisted of a wooden table, studio monitors, and ‘braai’ lighting.
Artists are also up in arms due to the unprofessional nature of the event, especially from main honcho, Andrew Murdock and his ‘shady wife.’
Luckily it is reported that a main investor did make sure that the artists got paid.
It just shows that having an event page and flyer does not guarantee a kosher event.
The Gathering festival joins Fyre Festival as 2017’s festivals going up in smoke.
