Teen potentially blinded after paint gun fired in his face at a rave
Teen potentially blinded for life.
Paint at raves is no new development, but what is changing is the methods used to distribute said paint. It’s no longer just hands or even paintbrushes; now paint guns used to shoot paint.
Anything involving a gun should ring alarm bells, add that to a place of festivities where revellers are known to be inebriated, and the alarm bells should be heard all around us.
Sadly, an alarm bell has come in the form of an 18-year old teenager who may be blinded for life after a paint gun went off in his face at a rave in Spain.
Dillon Connery was vacationing in Mallorca and attended a party at the Carwash Club in Magaluf; little did he know that a night of fun would result in a lifelong nightmare.
Say no to guns
His mother, Ashleigh, told STV News:
“It’s absolutely crazy. He arrived on the Wednesday evening, then on the Thursday morning his friends found Dylan in a bad way and I was told about it. I assumed he had been attacked.
“The UV paint party involved a handmade weapon which went full pelt and close range into both of Dylan’s eyes.”
If you’ve been paintballing you know how sore close range shots are; that is why safety goggles are mandatory.
Now imagine being shot in the eyes… That is something Dillon knows with excruciating pain.
He’s undergoing several procedures at a hospital in Spain and doctors are hopeful that he could regain sight in his right eye; time will tell.
