Synergy Live 2014 goes big on electronic this year
Synergy Live 2014 has really pushed ahead with their electronic stages this year although it is nice to see they have still kept the live band arena going too. There were rumours they were going to convert the event into an electronic only event but instead it looks like they’ve just gone for more of everything, electronic music being the big winner for this year’s Synergy Live 2014.
Three Types of Electronic Music Happenings at Synergy live 2014
When Synergy Live re-launched as a festival the dance arenas looked like a bit of an afterthought to be honest. The lineups were great but the layout suggested the promoters did not really take dance music that seriously. Oh how the times have changed! This year sees involvement from three different stakeholders all keen to be involved and push their brands – and quite rightly so as all three have something significant to offer.
The Red Bull Studio Live experience will do what Red Bull Studio does so well. Bring together an eclectic mix of some of our finest producers and DJs from drum and bass, Dubstep, deep and tech house but will also feature internationals S.P.Y, Egbert and Secret Cinema alongside the cream of local talent.
On Sunday Synergy Live 2014 will host the Sirius Sunday Electronic Music Experience. Yup they’re letting trance back into rock festivals. Actually they did this last year but this time they’ve upped the game asking the producers of the Love & Light Day parties to host a proper progressive trance Sunday. They have also bolstered their lineup with some international heavy weights, namely; Captain Hook, Atmos and Mindwave.
Then there’s the Era Beach Club (sounds remarkably like another beach club idea at another festival starting with the name Mainstay… hmmm, I wonder who that could be?). Anyway Synergy Live 2014 have upped their game here too by reeling in the services of the new and profoundly beautifully sounding ERA Nightclub who will no doubt have their gorgeous Funktion One rig delivering the beats and also includes international underground heavyweights Stimming, Ron Costa, Lake People and DJ Anna.
