Swedish House Mafia announce first reunion show
Swedish House Mafia will play their first show in 6 years in Stockholm, Sweden next year.
The time has come to solidify the much-discussed rumour that the EDM super-group will reunite after 6 year disbandment.
The trio took to a press conference yesterday, revealing their plan for a reunion show at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden on Saturday, 4th May 2019.
Even more exciting is the fact that they will be playing brand spanking new music at the show, which confirms that they are back in full force.
Speculation of the much-anticipated reunion began when they teased about a big announcement in the pipeline at their 1 gig of this year at Ultra Miami, along with a mysterious countdown timer displayed on their website.
Save the World
While the announcement of the trio’s reunion was by no means as surprise, this is the first officially announced show they will play since they disbanded in 2013- 6 years ago.
During Steve Angello’s set at Ultra Mexico a few weeks ago, he also teased the crowd saying the group would be returning in 2019, saying, ““Mexico, I’ll see you next year with Swedish House Mafia.”
Despite their 6-year hiatus, they were still voted No.63 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs poll 2018. It just shows the staying power this power house trio has, and if you think about how much productivity can arise from a break in touring, their new music is sure to bring the fire.
Tickets for the Swedish House Mafia reunion show in Stockholm will go on sale this Saturday, 27 October at 12:00 am via livenation.se– watch the announcement below.
