Stilt Walker attacked at EDC in Las Vegas
An experienced stilt walker by the name of Marco Landin is in recovery after being attacked during a performance at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas.
In a busy crowd of thousands, a man grabbed his stilts from behind and lifted Landin up in the air.
The attacker threw the stilt walker to the ground and Marco experienced a hard landing when he fell. He described the pain as the worst he has ever felt in his life.
Landin’s costume was designed to make him appear as though he were a giant mechanical dragonfly. While performers such as this poor stilt walker are hired to delight and thrill partygoers, they are certainly not there to be attacked by wasted attendees who don’t know how to control themselves.
Aggression on the dancefloor
Marco Landin appears to be just one of the EDM scene’s latest victims. He has shattered hands and arms which now puts him out of work for a few months.
Before he was attacked he noticed someone getting aggressive with one of the other performers, then the same guy went after Marco too.
“They started punching the puppet in the face. I mean really come on. He went behind me, grabbed both of my stilts so I could not move. So I could not defend myself. Picked me up in the air and then just flipped my stilts up. “All I could do to not hit my head, you know on the concrete, was put my arms out and this is what resulted. The guy is still at large. I really hope that a conversation could be reached regarding kind of a growing aggressive attitude at large at entertainment events like this.” Said Landin
The attacker is unknown because he managed to escape the grip of security with help from his friends. The guilty guy and his friends disappeared into the crowd and now he has gotten away with assaulting the stilt walker and putting him out of work.
