Stay True Sounds – a new label by Kid Fonque & Jullian Gomes

Stay True Sounds is a new label recently founded by Kid Fonque & Jullian Gomes.

Kid Fonque & Jullian Gomes are two local talents who each have a strong following in the local house scene. Alan (Kid Fonque) was label manager at the now defunct Soul Candi Records and Jullian has had considerable local and international success with is productions.

Now they have chosen to combine their skills and talents behind pushing a record label that will represent all that they value in the music business. This makes Stay True Sounds a sure fire imprint to follow.

“Each of us brings something different to the table, creating a label together really feels like the next logical step. It’s the right time to do our own thing and not feel limited by anything. Locally I couldn’t imagine doing it with anyone else.” Says Jullian Gomes

Kid Fonque & Jullian Gomes have a strong collaboration history and Kid Fonque himself played an important role in the launching of Jullian Gomes’ career.

The announcement of this interesting new label comes after months of planning and discussing. You can look forward to a debut solo album by Jullian Gomes followed by a collaboration album by Kid Fonque and D-Malice.

They are keeping their label signings on the down low for now. But other releases you can expect from Stay True Sounds will be produced by artists such as Bruce Loko, Cuebur, Black Widow, and Melo B Jones.

2016 and the start of the Stay True Sounds label will be the beginning of a new journey for these two artists. The foundation of their working relationship is based on mutual respect and their overlapping musical preferences.

The official label launch for Stay True Sounds will kick off at Kitchener’s in Braamfontein on the 27^th of November this year. On the line up you can look forward to sets by Kid Fonque, Jullian Gomes, Black Widow, Bruce Loko, Cuebur, and Melo B Jones.
