A Spotify-run music player may soon be on the cards for your car
A Spotify-run music player may soon become a fixture in your car.
So there is talk amongst users and the like who have experienced a peculiar offer appear on their app.
The offer was to “preorder a device to put in my vehicle that would play Spotify in my car and had Amazon Alexa and the 4g to run it included for $14.99/mo,” as one user wrote in Reddit.
That may seem perfectly plausible, but the peculiarity lies in that when users clicked on said offer, it took them to an error page.
What, you may ask (as many others have recently done so) is the meaning of this?
Is it a leak? Is it a test? Is it the real deal?
A sleek leak?
Unfortunately Spotify is giving nothing away, as administrators on their forum cite the usual “We’re always testing things to improve Spotify,” and “Right now we don’t have any news on this, but we’ve let the right team know it’s something you’d like to see.”
Something must be going on though, there’s even a photo of a potential device.
Another tip is that the company has put out job listings for hardware projects, and we know for sure that they are actively testing voice commands on its mobile phone app.
All the signs are pointing to a truly mobile music player, but users will have to wait until 24 April, when Spotify will make their announcement.
One thing’s for sure- announcing anything other than a Spotify-run music player will be a major anti-climax.
