Spotify launches Songwriter Pages on platform
Spotify launches Songwriter Pages to promote the creators behind your favourite songs.
On Tuesday 12 February Spotify announced the debut of a beta version of ‘Songwriter Pages,’ which helps “fans, collaborators and industry partners dive deeper into some of the creators behind their favorite songs,” the streaming giant revealed through a blog post.
The program will allow fans to click on the songwriter (found in the credits), taking them to a ‘Songwriter Page’ displaying other songs they’ve written on the platform as well as regular collaborators. It allows you to go straight to the source, where you can discover similar work.
Since Spotify began displaying song credits in 2018, they saw a 60% increase in how often labels and distributors credit songwriters in new releases, giving artists and fans the opportunity to dig deeper into the creative aspect of song creation.

The first Songwriter Pages featured on the launch are for Meghan Trainor, Fraser T Smith, Missy Elliott, Teddy Geiger, Ben Billions and Justin Tranter, among others.
In beta, the pages are enabled by publishers and Spotify in partnership with songwriters themselves. Being in beta, only a limited number of songwriters have pages and “Written By” playlists at this time.
“Written By” playlists allow fans to not only “see” the music you’ve created, but “listen” too. Users will be able to discover these playlists via search and follow them as well.
How to access songwriter pages:
- Right-click on a track (or, if you’re on mobile, tap the “…” next to the track)
- Hit “Song Credits”
- Select a clickable songwriter’s name
- Every songwriter page includes a “Written By” playlist spanning that writer’s work. On their page, click or tap “Listen on Spotify” to check them out.
