Spotify car view introduced to make music browsing safer while driving
The Spotify car view feature is rolling out to Android users globally.
Last week Spotify launched car view, a Simpler Now Playing view that makes it easier to use when listening to Spotify through Bluetooth whilst driving your car.
At the moment its availability stretches to global Android users, with the iOS version still in progress without a clear date in sight.
All you need to do is get in your car, connect to Bluetooth and click play; it will automatically switch to car view.
Basically, car view supersizes important buttons like track name, track controls and other buttons like shuffle, leaving out unimportant info like album art, making it easier and quicker to read at a glance.
Drive safe, for real
In a statement, Spotify explained how to operate the feature, saying: “To search tap Your Library, Browse or Search. Once you’re listening you can use the seek bar to skip to another part of the song/episode. Free users will be able to enjoy the experience via shuffle mode.”
Of course, there is also an ‘opt-out’ option, although I don’t think anyone would want to- as far as features go, car view is definitely positive and highly efficient.
Spotify added: “You or another car passenger can opt out temporarily (until you next connect to a car) directly from the car view by clicking the three dots menu. You can also opt out of the feature permanently from within your Spotify settings.”
Check out Spotify car view on your Spotify app, Android users; as for iOS, you’ll have to wait and see.
