SoundCloud introduces a new music recommendation feature called The Upload
SoundCloud is one of my favourite streaming sites for electronic music as well as finding more underground artists and they have created a rainbow.
This rainbow feature known as The Upload is for finding new music on the SoundCloud platform. Much like YouTube’s recommended videos, which is based on what you are currently listening to, The Upload assesses what your musical vibe is through your current listening and then does something magical with that information.

It uses the information of your recently listened to music and algorithmically using machine learning, finds other artists and music of that same frequency uploaded in the past few days and creates for you a playlist of this new music.
If you are on Sound Cloud via a web browser you can find The Upload via the ‘Discover’ tab. If you are using iOS or Android you can find it in the ‘Search’ tab.
Thump tried it out and The Upload created a 20-track playlist of music uploaded in the last 4 days.
They have also announced the expansion of their revenue sharing program so that DJ’s can make money off mixes.
In February, they also announced a $5 paid subscription service– an updated version of SoundCloud
Go which gives listeners access to offline and ad-free streaming as well as access to 120 million songs.
There’s nothing better than finding new music and artists and to put it in a neat playlist for us is just too kind. SoundCloud is stepping up its game in the streaming arena!
