New Soundcloud Go App promo offers three months for 99 cents
Soundcloud Go App offers one hundred and thirty five million plus tracks, unlocked previews, offline listening, and no ads. Soundcloud Go App isn’t available in South Africa yet so we get to sit this one out for now.
The company is keen to draw in paying listeners for the new subscription feature and they have come up with this affordable deal as a result.
The streaming service has been going for six months and this latest promo will span over a week. If you sign up by the 19th of September you get all of the benefits of the Soundcloud Go App package.
Google Music and Spotify have offered similar deals so it appears that Soundcloud is just trying to stay on par with this one in an attempt to stay in the race.
Soundcloud Go App is largely unchartered territory so if you are interested in seeing how it works then this deal could be a good opportunity for you.
Not the slickest interface…
Soundcloud Go App however has been criticised for its less than slick interface and the minimal music selection on offer. This is allegedly why they are going to all ends to ensure that they make some money out of this subscription service.
According to Bloomberg, the owners of Soundcloud are looking at possibly selling the company for an estimated $1 billion. The sale discussions are on the table due in part to their lack of confidence in making money from their loyal listeners signing up for subscriptions.
The online music streaming site may have a tough road ahead if the decision to sell is followed through with. Reportedly, they are struggling to find potential buyers who share in the view that the company is worth $1 billion. Twitter’s $70 million investment only valued SoundCloud at $700 million. If they choose to sell they may have to accept a lower offer than the initial $1billion.
