So much more at Sónar
Apart from a stellar line-up, Sónar presents Sónar Calling a project whereby they are sending a series of radio transmissions to a nearby exoplanet that may support life. They have sent a total of 38 ten-second pieces of music, each one created exclusively for Sónar by artists linked to the festival and an answer could be received within 25 years; in time for their 50th anniversary.
The day before the festival, 13 June, they also offer Sónar+D, a networking Day exclusively for delegate pass holders that includes a programme of conferences and workshops designed to inspire debate and information exchange.
In celebration of 25 years of Sónar, co-director Ricard Robles created a 2-volume playlist each featuring 25 of his favourite tracks by artists who have been a part of Sónar, including LFO, Orbital, Aphex Twin, Skrillex, Die Antword, Richie Hawtin and more. Listen to Volume 1 and Volume 2.
