Solo – Overtime is the rapper’s new music video and it was officially released last week. The video for his latest single debuted on music video channel, Channel O’s Turn Up.
The concept behind the video for Solo – Overtime is one that was purposefully kept quite simple and aims to tell the exact story behind the track.
The theme of the track revolves around time and how once it has passed it can’t be reversed. The video for Solo – Overtime also includes elements from the movie titled ‘Time’ which stars famous pop star turned actor, Justin Timberlake.
Solo – Overtime has enjoyed high rotation air play on both provincial and national radio stations.
This release from Solo is one that comes five months after he won his very first South African Hip Hop Award for ‘Best Newcomer.’ He wants everyone to know that he is more determined than ever to put in the work that will take him from one success in his career as a hip hop artist to the next.
It’s a good idea to stay focused too; it’s all too easy for the fickle public to forget about you once you slip under the radar of relevance. Winning an award may feel really cool but the novelty wears off as quickly as the bubbles in the glass during the celebratory toast. Staying mindful of your output as an artist and the quality thereof is what will prove your worth.
Earlier this year Jeep South Africa approached Solo and rapper, Blaklez, to produce a collaboration for their All-New 2015 Jeep Renegade, which will be launching soon.
Their new single ‘Hit The Ground Running’ was created and is now the official soundtrack for the Renegade TV & radio ads currently airing. The track can be downloaded by using the Shazam app, when the Renegade TV Ad airs.
