Samsung Spotify collaboration announced as new products unveiled
A Samsung Spotify collaboration seems like it was an inevitable partnership waiting to happen.
As the battle between Spotify and Apple Music continues, things are heating up with game changing new partnerships being formed- and it’s all in the palm of your hands.
Last week, on August 9, the tech conglomerate unpacked their new products at the Barclay’s Centre in Brooklyn, unveiling products like the Galaxy Note 9, the Galaxy Watch, a wireless charging mat, an updated version of Bixby (voice activation) and Galaxy Home (smart-home).
But for music lovers, there was a certain announcement that had the hairs in their cochlea’s standing at attention, and it’s the news that the company is teaming up with Spotify to make the streaming giant the “go-to music service provider” for ALL their devices.
This news is interesting seeing as American mobile phone company Verizon teamed up with Apple Music to give users who sign up for their Verizon Unlimited package 6 months of free Apple Music.
What does the Samsung Spotify collaboration mean for users?
Spotify is now part of the setup experience of Samsung’s devices, and accounts from the two companies will eventually be linked for smart home integration with Samsung’s SmartThings app.
Spotify will also be the default music option for Bixby, who will refer users looking for a song to Spotify even if they’ve never used it before.
Basically if go for one of Samsung’s devices, you will automatically have the option to choose Spotify.
The Note 9 was the crown jewel of the unpacking, which looks sleek and easy to hold, with a lot more storage (128 GB or 512GB), a better S Pen, a bigger battery, a better camera and more; it’s not cheap but if you want, you can pre-order it here.
The Samsung Spotify collaboration sees music and technology become more intertwined by the day and it’s all in the pam of your hand!!!
