A-list SA artists support Spotify on their launch
SA artists support Spotify through a new marketing campaign.
South Africa is buzzing with excitement over the recent launch of Spotify. After years of hearing about this mega streaming platform, we can now join the masses and discover new music.
The launch not only benefits users, but will also benefit South African artists who can increase their following through exposure on the platform.
A-list artists from across the musical spectrum have lent their support for Spotify in SA by appearing in its first above the line marketing campaign.
Artists rallying in support include AKA, Black Coffee, KO, Brenda Fassie, Distruction Boyz, Shekinah, Zahara, Nasty C, TKZEE, Tellaman, Ricky Rick, Ray Dylan, Mi Casa, Kwesta and Karen Zoid, in appealing to a broad musical audience.
Discover a new world of music
The message they are driving in the campaign is: “Discover a new world of music. Free on Spotify.”
The campaign creatively uses a tongue-in-cheek and a ‘play on words’ to announce the streaming service’s arrival in South Africa.
The messaging highlights key benefits on offer including the free service and the selection of artists spanning across multiple genres showcasing the comprehensive local catalogue available to all.
The creative will be introduced on out-of-home billboards, strategically positioned across the country, along with digital advertising on Spotify’s social channels that will run for 8 weeks.
According to hip hop star, Nasty C, “I’m so glad Spotify is in South Africa. They played a big part in the 30 million+ streams on Particula. This helped my brand to go global and grow to over 300,000 followers of my music.”
