Ryan Murgatroyd robbed, studio ransacked – help find his gear
Ryan Murgatroyd robbed, but luckily, he walked away with his life and album.
On Wednesday, 20 March house hero Ryan Murgatroyd went through a harrowing ordeal when 4 armed men broke into his house, bound him, beat him and ransacked his house.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Ryan recounted the details of this horrific incident and gross violation of one’s personal space.
Ryan was set to leave his house because of load shedding but couldn’t find his bike keys. When the power didn’t go out, he decided to get stuck into a “powerful studio sesh.”
Having just eaten a spoon of cannabis oil, getting into that musical space he heard a noise but decided to not give in to paranoia…
Next thing he was surrounded by 4 heavily armed men who proceeded to tie him up, stick a gun at the back of his head, pistol whip him, beat him all while having him show them where all the valuables are.
Silver lining
After cleaning out the house they still seemed unsatisfied and restless, so he showed them his studio.
“Please bro, dont kill me and even more importantly, dont take the computer drive with the entire unreleased album on it,” he begged.
They packed up the whole studio but left the mac mini with the album and left him bound and locked in his empty studio crying tears of joy that he hadn’t lost his entire life’s work or his life.
Even luckier is the fact that his girlfriend left his house minutes before the attack, shuddering to think what could have been.
Among the gear that was stolen is:
- SPL Kultube
- Moog Mother 32
- Waldorf Pulse
- Adam A7s
Ryan is offering a handsome reward for any information that could lead to the recovery of his gear, so if you see any of these items around, get in touch with him.
