Red Bull Music Studios Cape Town calls on Producers to apply for studio time
Apply for a chance at studio time at Red Bull Music Studios Cape Town today.
Red Bull Music is looking for up and coming artists from around South Africa to come into their Cape Town Studio for a week to make music, be given a platform to be heard, gain insights into the music industry and be given some basic but essential tools to help any artist on their journey to achieving their goals as music makers.
They are looking to bring in 6 artists over the course of April, May and June 2020, for 5 days (Mon to Fri) each, with a particular interest in artists creating vibrant, fresh, local sounds – think Amapiano, Gqom, Kwaito, Maskandi, etc.
Hip-Hop, House and R&B may be a secondary focus, but artists in these genres are welcome.
Red Bull magic
If accepted, RBMS (Red Bull Music Studio) will liaise with you to find the best week to come into Studio over the course of February, March and April. Red Bull we need to work with you to record and produce at least one song, which they will collaborate with you to release on all major platforms at the end of the year as a part of a compilation.
Here’s the big one: They will cover all costs of this release and tell the story of its creation through Red Bull’s channels, including flights to Cape Town plus hotel stay for the five days if you’re not from the Mother City.
They will also help you create an up to date EPK, including a professional biography and images that you can use to promote yourself.
Applications to the Red Bull Music Studios competition closes on 6 April 2020; find out more here.
