R Kelly denies accusations of holding women in a cult
I Believe I can Fly’s R Kelly has made headlines again, for sexual misconduct, again…
Unlike the classic film Space Jam, the only court Kelly is finding himself in involves defending himself against charges of sexual misconduct. Throughout the years.
In 2001, reporter Jim DeRogatis received a tape allegedly showing R Kelly having sex with a minor, which he then handed over to the police who launched an investigation.
In 2008 Kelly was acquitted of 14 charges of making child pornography.
He has also settled multiple lawsuits throughout the years involving sexual misconduct.
The singer married fellow star Aaliyah when she was only 15 years old and he 27, after he fraudulently set her age as 18 on the marriage certificate.
Cult status?
The latest accusation towards R Kelly is that he is holding women in a sex cult across locations in both Chicago and Atlanta.
Writing to The Telegraph, his lawyer, Linda Mensch says: "Mr Robert Kelly is both alarmed and disturbed at the recent revelations attributed to him.
“Mr Kelly unequivocally denies such allegations and will work diligently and forcibly to pursue his accusers and clear his name.”
Some of the allegations include: Controlling their phones and social media use, banning them from making contact with the outside world, controlling them sexually and abuses them physically and mentally.
Allegedly there is a “den mother” who ‘trains’ these girls on how to please “daddy,” which is what they have to call him, allegedly.
Women formerly in the cult as well as concerned parents of daughters who sought after Kelly hoping to further their careers have come forward to Buzzfeed.
A young girl has been ‘with him’ since December 2016, claiming that she loves him. Police can’t intervene as she is of age.
We often see how celebrities get away with atrocious crimes, and if he is truly guilty lets hope he receives the full force of the law.
Strangely, R Kelly suffered sexual abuse himself from both men and women, including relatives, between the ages of 7 and 9.
