Producer named AJ Belik competes in a remix contest from jail and wins
AJ Belik can be seen pulling a zap on his SoundCloud profile picture.
He is also currently serving time in a Russian jail for the possession and sale of weed.
But instead of letting this minor setback get him down, this producer is making the most of his time behind bars by focusing on his music career.
Without having to worry about paying rent, working, having to socialize or neighbours complaining about loud music, AJ Belik has been able to transform his sentence into a song.
Belik entered and won a remix contest held by new label, ”A Better Sound Music” in which producers had to remix Cyberluke & VinylFanatic’s Regeneration.
Belik’s remix, accompanied by a music video, will soon be released- sooner than what he will be released from jail, in fact!
Raising the bar from behind bars
This effort shows that equipment is not everything. You can produce great music with whatever means you have as long as your heart is hungry.
What about touring?
Belik and his beats will be released in 2018:
“All the music here by this moment is produced in prison, even though I’m short on equipment I try to make it sound nice. I will be released in 2018 and ready to tour.”
Regeneration consists of a futuristic trip into broken beats and Drum & Bass. Funked up synth bass licks and 2 emcees on the beat take it to the next level.
Cyberluke & VinylFanatic Regeneration Remixes are on sale through Beatport.

AJ Belik shows that you can imprison a body but the mind can always remain free.
