Prince Kaybee shaken after protest action ensued during a performance
Prince Kaybee caught in the crossfire of protest action.
During a recent performance at the Motswako Car Wash & Chesa Nyama in Kimberly, Kaybee was caught in the crossfire of violence between protestors and police.
As anyone can think, the show in fact couldn’t go on as the situation escalated o dangerous heights.
“Protestors were running past the car wash while Kaybee was performing. The police shot rubber bullets and tear gas in the air and was moving towards the venue. So there was chaos.” said the venue’s owner, Pogisho Mompati.
Luckily the DJ and music maker didn’t sustain any injuries, though he is shaken up and rightfully so.
“He was not hurt. He was just a bit shaken but fine. We secured the whole area.”
We may see glimpses of the protests on the news but to actually experience it in reality takes it to another level and really makes one realise how dissatisfied our citizens are.
Kaybee be okay
The Prince took to Twitter to express his gratitude to the venue for protecting him.
“Thank you for risking your life last night in Kimberly protecting me at Motswako Car Wash 🙏🏾😭🙏🏾 @brianmo22 even when the cops threw teargas on stage you and @bangi_yes made sure I’m good. And to all the people in Kimberly that are on strike, I hope your issues get resolved 🙏🏾” he posted.
Social media messages are reportedly circulating urging locals to refrain from going to work or send their children to school. Several schools in the area are reportedly shut with learners being sent back home.
Luckily Prince Kaybee escaped unscathed!
