Police hand out lollipops at Illegal Welsh rave
An Illegal Welsh rave illustrated how compliance and good behaviour paid off, in a sweet sweet way.
Although ravers may dance like there’s no tomorrow, some of these illegal aficionados of fun do actually have respect for the ‘venue’ they inhabit.
The Welsh countryside of Grwyne Fawr experienced this firsthand when an illegal party of over 100 ravers rolled through the night and day.
At 8:30am on the Sunday morning of July 2, a neighbourhood policing team from Circkhowell arrived on the scene to shut the party down.
The usual unfolding of events regarding such matters involves violence and arrests but in this case police took a higher road and struck a deal that the party would finish by 14:00.
This illegal Welsh rave was on!!!
When the deadline arrived, Dyfed-Powys Police arrived on the scene.
Wales seems to be where it’s at regarding raves.
Just a few days ago we reported on the 40-year-old LSD stash which as it happens, also involves the Dyfed-Powys Police. Maybe they’ve found it and aren’t telling anybody… J
These are the cops you really want to engage with seeing as they take a completely different approach to policing.
So they arrived at the illegal Welsh rave armed with loads of LOLLIPOPS. Yes you are reading right!
They handed out lollipops to ravers who returned the nicety by shutting down the party as well as cleaning up the site.
PC Cheryl Rudge said: “Illegal raves can cause considerable anxiety to the local community and can be extremely dangerous. On this occasion, the group was very compliant and we managed to have what felt like positive engagement with them around taking drugs and particularly the dangers if they need medical assistance in such a remote area.”
This illegal Welsh rave shows how being sweet really pays off.
