Octopizzo reprimanded Cassper Nyovest during a show in Kenya
Octopizzo reprimanded Cassper Nyovest for being late; naughty naughty!
The TGR event at Ngongu Racecourse featured a bill of stellar proportions including performances by Khaligraph Jones, Octopizzo, Fena, Steph Kapela and headliner Cassper Nyovest.
Cassper Nyovest (headliner) was reprimanded by Octopizzo for arriving late, making fans wait. The Kenyan rapper felt that Cassper should apologise to fans, saying:
“It has become a trend that many international acts who perform in Kenya take for granted the Kenyan audience, they arrive late and end up giving a lacklustre performances,” amid applause from the crowd.
However, after allegedly having his passport held by the British Embassy and pre-event media postponed three times, Cassper made his way to the stage without apologising to fans, and performed for just under an hour.
The show must go on, after a 6 hour delay
In an epic plot twist, it appears that the event as a whole was delayed by 6 hours, independently of Cassper’s late arrival.
DJ Protégé and DJ Dii were left to keep the crowd psyched up ahead of the big performances- for 6 hours, but the show did indeed go on.
Fena Gitu graced the stage, giving an energizing performance of her latest track “Miss Me With That,” and Khaligraph Jones delivered a world-class performance featuring some of his greatest hits including “Omollo” and Toa Tint.”
Next up was Octopizzo, who started his performance with the ‘Cassper rant,’ which seems to have clouded his own performance.
Naturally Cassper delivered a spectacular performance, with everyone on their feet as he took fans through hits like Doc Shebeleza, Mama I Made It, Malome, Baby Girl, Tito Mboweni, Travel the World among others.
Despite Octopizzo’s comments, Cassper focussed on the positive in a Tweet.
Nairobi was amazing. The love I’m getting from all the African countries right now is really invigorating.
