Nocturnal Sunshine – Maya Jane Coles’ new Alter-Ego
Nocturnal Sunshine is Maya Jane Coles new dark and dubby alter ego. Usually when an artist decides to reinvent themselves and come through with new alter egos and all that mess, well let’s just say that the music they come up with is normally pretty good.
The vocals on the new album were done by Maya, Chelou and Catnapp. A limited edition of the 12″ version of Nocturnal Sunshine will be made available on Record Store Day, which will include the exclusive track ‘Never Too Late’.
Maya Jane Cole’s previous album ‘Comfort’ was released independently back in 2013. Look out for the release of the new self titled album, Nocturnal Sunshine on the 25th of May 2015 through her own record label I/AM/ME.
Maya has also remixed as ‘Maya Jane Coles’ for underground labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Leftroom, and Get Physical. She’s also added her own signature on to tracks by Little Dragon, Tricky, Florence & The Machine, The Orb, Lianne La Havas, 2:54, Todd Terry and Bo Saris.
She is not only known for being a brilliant remixer, Maya has a solid reputation as a talented DJ who has done guest mixes for Resident Advisor, Louche, Enter, Trace A Line, Defected with a Mixmag cover-mount CD and a BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix.
Maya Jane Cole has played in forty countries at festivals like Fuji Rocks (Japan), Coachella (USA), Sonar (Spain), Ultra (USA), Lowlands (Holland), T in the Park (UK), Pukkelpop (Belgium), Bestival (UK), Creamfields (UK) and Summadayze (Australia) amongst countless others all around the world.
