Nina Kraviz EP ‘Stranno Stranno. Neobjatno’ out: listen
Nina Kraviz ‘Stranno Stranno. Neobjatno’ is released on her трип imprint.
2017’s DJ of the Year and all-round techno queen Nina Kraviz presents you with her latest offering; a 3-track EP titled ‘Stranno Stranno. Neobjatno,’ which translates to ‘Strange Strange. Immensely’ in English.
The EP marks the 25th release of her трип imprint as well as her first release on the imprint since 2018 when she put out a limited edition 12″ vinyl, titled ‘TRP ADE 2018 PT2′.’
Stranno Stranno. Neobjatno is comprised of 3 tracks, namely “Dream Machine,” a title track and “I Want You,” for which she released a very much aquatic music video of earlier this month.
Craving some Kraviz? Eat your heart out
Stranno Stranno is reminiscent of the stripped-back style of her earlier work.
Both hypnotic and slow burning, “Dream Machine” features pumping synthesizer chords and a restrained drum-machine groove.
“I Want You” (with the aquatic music video) is harder-edged than “Dream Machine,” with rigid toms hammering away accompanied by distorted and raw claps and hi-hats.
The title track, “Stranno Neobjatno” is even faster that “I Want You,” and has a smooth groove that belies its breakneck tempo.
All 3 tracks feature Kraviz’ voice, as she repeats key phrases that represent each track, whether it’s “I think I’m falling for you” from “Dream Machine,” “I started to worry” from “I Want You” or “Stranno neobjatno” from, you guessed it- “Stranno neobjatno.”
