Nicolas Jaar EP under A.A.L alias out today
Nicolas Jaar also uploaded an A.A.L mix with unreleased music this week.
In 2018 the talented Producer spread his production wings and brought fans a new sound in the form of A.A.L (Against All Logic), releasing the album 2012-2017.
This week Jaar posted a short clip of a cat with snowy mountains in the background, accompanied by a stock photo of an army man holding a cellphone and lastly a photo depicting information about an Against All Logic EP.
The post promotes a new A.A.L Mix and reveals his plans of releasing an A.A.L EP titled Illusions, featuring art-pop auteur FKA Twigs and New York noise legend Lydia Lunch– which happens to be TODAY!
Jaar previously collaborated with FKA twigs on her genre-defying 2019 album MAGDALENE, where he assisted with production and writing on five tracks, including single “sad day.”
Against All Logic
Accompanying the EP announcement is a 50:44-minute mix of unreleased music shared to his label’s SoundCloud page. The work present in the A.A.L Mix may be different to what he accomplished with Twigs, although it carries the same ‘genre-defiant’ energy.
The mix is crunchy, featuring reinterpreted disco, techno and house beats, reminiscent of his 2018 A.A.L album, 2012-2017.

Interestingly, Jaar rejects having his image used for anything A.A.L, opting instead to use “any picture of a military man holding a cellphone.”
