NEW OUT OF SPACE MATERIAL FROM MIKE MAGO
Galactic pays homage to the masters of outer-space infused electronica, Daft Punk. Wearing its influences on its sleeve, the robotic vocals are a clear nod to the French duo. This pleasing concession to nostalgia is blended with dreamy snyth loops and a languid disco beat that brings to mind a Jon Hopkins or a Gold Panda. Mike Mago’s star appeal shines through on this record, which is sure to become a must-have in the bags of many.
Galactic is a first glimpse into an upcoming album, which will be released next year, also on BMKLTSCH RCRDS. A video for the single, directed by fashion forward Amsterdam creative duo, Sanne & Ine, is imminent.
There are also a brace of official Galactic remixes up for grabs. These treats are supplied by melodic house producer Broke One and prolific Bristolian production duo Simpson & Behling.
Mike Mago’s releases and remixes are supported by A-trak, Switch, Zombie Nation, Groove Armada, Fake Blood, The Magician, Mason, Etienne de Crecy, Disco Of Doom, Punks Jump Up, Laidback Luke, Kissy Sell Out and Drop The Lime. Mago has played alongside Tiga, Crookers, Villa, Digitalism, Dr. Lektroluv and MSTRKRFT.
Mike is also responsible for providing the soundtrack for clothing brand Diesel’s sexy 2012 advertising campaign, Loverdose. The track, a remix of the Donna Summer classic Love To Love You Baby oozes an appropriate amount of sex appeal with a contemporary downtempo disco vibe.
Mago was one of the founders of BMKLTSCH RCRDS in 2009. They’ve teamed up with acts like Aloe Blacc, Nobody Beats The Drum, Bart B More and RipTide with hot remix talent: Lazersword, John Roman, TWR72, NT89, Disco Of Doom and of course Mike Mago himself. With both BMKLTSCH RCRDS and the associated Boemklatsch Collective, he is also a prolific event organiser. With his Taped Night, organized in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Paris and Berlin, Mike puts the focus on uplifting electronic music and full party experiences.
