Release Date: 26 November 2012
The Others is returning to Dub Police with the second single to be taken from the record, ‘Fallout / Freeze The Frame’. Following up standout first single ‘The Way You Make Me’, these two tracks give a further insight into what people can expect from the forthcoming LP and once again showcase his unfaltering efforts to continue pushing the envelope.
Teaming up with label mate Emalkay on ‘Fallout’, Crawford continues to push his signature style into new and unchartered territory. Returning to the darkside from the anthemic euphoria of ‘TWYMM’, ‘Fallout’ is dark and deadly tearout at its most potent. Built on a rigid, incisive rhythm, the industrial bassline slashes through the track viciously against a backdrop of undulating subs. Up next, ‘Freeze The Frame’ featuring Geoff Smith on vocals further explores the rave-influenced sounds of the last single as soaring synth lines collide with sharp drums and tough bass flourishes in fine style. First up on remix duties is recent Dub Police signing and fresh talent Mydas who delivers an intense rework of ‘Freeze The Frame’ fusing tough, galloping drums with a ground-splitting bassline, while flipping the track on its head completely, Baxta’s remix takes it into deeper territory with a rolling 2-step rhythm, pitch-shifted vocals and emotive melodic swells.
With his consistent flow of successful releases over the last few years, The Others has time and time again asserted his ability to craft powerful and unique club music, and this single is another decisive step as he prepares to unveil his biggest statement yet with the release of ‘Red Planet’.
