Release Date: 24 September 2012
Audiofly’s Supernature imprint returns this September with Inxec vs Droog’s ‘Rude’ EP backed with two remixes from Brett Johnson and one from Special Case.
The release, as you’d expect from Crosstown Rebels artist Inxec and Culprits L.A based trio Droog is deep, dark, mood-driven house with an amass of vocal samples, emotive synth melodies and raw shuffling drums.
The first remixes come courtesy of American producer Brett Johnson, turning in two reworks in the form of ‘Channel’ and ‘Twerk’. The cuts are deep, progressive slow bloomers built upon subtle additions to the groove and an elongated movement that steadily build throughout, the ‘Twerk’ mix lands at a near 11 minutes long and is a fine example of Johnson’s ability to draw out grooves yet keep things lively.
Russian trio Special Case turn in a remix of ‘Rude’, employing a dark industrial feel with metallic percussion and tripped out bell chimes the result is a unique peak-time rework. ‘Bad Timing’ closes the release, winding things down with an ethereal vibe, perfect B-Side material.
