The world is watching! South African dance music has been in the spotlight over the past year, notably through the efforts of organisations such as Breathe Sunshine African Music Conference and Bridges for Music who have facilitated workshops, successfully bringing together high profile international artists with local stars in a township environment (the most recent being with Boys Noize).[one_half last=”no”][dropcap]T[/dropcap]his coupled with the unique signature sound of ‘African House,’ a deep blend of township vibes and soulful house music, being led by the imitable Black Coffee, has made the world sit up and take notice.
It is believed that there are more DJ’s per capita in South Africa than anywhere else in the world and one only has to take a short drive through a township to witness the love for house music as it thumps from every street corner.

Hosted by Breathe Sunshine African Music Conference’s Trenton Birch, 9 representatives from South Africa will sit on a panel and field questions about the South African music industry, focusing primarily on urban house.
