Morcheeba is going to trip hop your socks off at Kirstenbosch Gardens!
With a music career spanning over 20 years and millions of albums sold, the British trip-hop pioneers are finally making their way to South Africa to play a once-off show at Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town on 6 April, 2018.
Fans will be able to tune in and space out to the captivating vocals of Skye Edwards and the enthralling guitar grooves of Ross Godfrey on the beautiful lawns of the gardens.
Spawning the ‘chill out’ genre of the 90’s, they are behind iconic songs like “Rome Wasn’t Built In A Day”, “The Sea”, “Even Though” and “Otherwise” that have garnered them a world-wide fan base.
Cape Townians are privy to experiencing such tracks that have long featured in cafes, lounge rooms and Sunday sessions around the world.
Around the world after 22 years…
This year the band will embark on their biggest tour to date, headlining shows and festivals globally as they showcase their new album as well as taking fans on a journey to past hits.
“20 years in, it’s never taken us longer to tour the world,” says singer Skye Edwards. “We’re still finding fans in places we’ve never played before, who’ve waited all this time to see us, or fans who’ve only recently discovered our music through streaming. It’s amazing.”
Their new album ‘Blaze Away’ will be released on 1 June 2018, but fans can get a taste by listening to their first single ‘Never Undo’ here.
