Moby new music video slams Trump and other world leaders
Moby new music video for “In This Cold Place” is a harrowing account of the world we live in today.
Politically charged Moby recently released his second album with The Void Pacific Choir titled “More Fast Songs About The Apocalypse” with an obvious theme. https://idmmag.com/news/moby-released-anti-trump-album/
Moby has never been discreet about his distaste for Trump and this album is certainly screaming.
Some track titles on the album include; ‘A Softer War’, ‘Trust’ ‘There’s Nothing Wrong with the World There’s Something Wrong With Me’ and of course ‘In This Cold Place.’
The lyrics to ‘In this Cold Place’ start with;
In this cold place, who will save me?
who will take the place of God tonight?
In This Cold Place
The video, illustrated by English animator Steve Cutts, depicts a decaying dystopian world.
The video is a trip down a deranged memory lane where we see the Care Bears putting up a wall segregating colour, a drunk He-Man being inappropriate towards females, and Thumper and friends in a bunny riot all ti highlight issues we face today.
There’s also parliament in the form of dinosaur lizard people fighting and Trump transforming into a giant robot, a dollar sign, as well as a swastika before he eventually explodes.
The song itself has a very cheery musical disposition and is actually very catchy. It reminds me a bit of the ‘Stranger Things’ theme song.
The music video is actually a must-see, brilliant yet harrowing in its truth regarding today’s times.
