Melodic House & Techno added as Beatport genre
A new Beatport genre called Melodic House & Techno has been added.
From music lovers to professionals, Beatport is one of the leading sources of music and what’s cooking in the respective scenes.
Since the immaculate conception of electronic music, spores of subgenres have sprouted all through the ether, with said spores also sprouting into further subgenres.
Keeping up with the beats is no easy feat and the platform needs to represent the dominant sounds igniting dance floors the world over, and with this they present a new genre: Melodic House & Techno.
Techno and House are already some of the biggest genres on the platform, so it comes as no surprise that it’s added a new flavour to its pot of dance floor delights.
Differentiation station!
So what sets it apart from its House & Techno brethren?
Melodic House & Techno: A heady, melodic, arpeggiator-heavy sound that’s both brooding and built for clubs.
For a more apt definition we look towards its tastemakers, which includes the likes of: Dixon, Solomun, Stephan Bodzin, Patrice, Baumel, Oliver, Mind Against and Matador to name a few.
Labels pushing this sound include Afterlife, Dinamic, Innervisions and Stil Vor Talent.
“While Beatport’s main House and Techno categories represent the biggest floor-filling tracks across the genres, Melodic House & Techno brings together a thriving sound that has not been easy to categorise as the lines blur between sounds and styles,” commented Beatport Label & Artist Relations Director, Jack Bridges.
The launch of Melodic House & Techno continues Beatport’s comprehensive process of genre refinement, which has moved over 1.5 million tracks to their correct categories.
With the fractal-like mushrooming of sound, Beatport genres will continue to provide users easy-pickings.
