Martin Garrix releases theme track for YouTube Live at E3
Dutch DJ, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Martin Garrix is joining the E3 party by writing a brand new track that will premiere as the theme for E3’s marathon 12-hour ‘YouTube Live at E3’ program on Monday, June 13, produced and hosted by Geoff Keighley (The Game Awards).
The new track is called Oops and Garrix says it was inspired by his love for 8-bit videogame soundtracks and is a celebration of the energy and passion that exists among gamers. Oops is a track made by a gamer for gamers and it is said to have used sounds inspired directly by videogames and the gaming world.
‘I am so honoured to team up with YouTube and play a part in celebrating the future of the video game industry at E3’, said Martin Garrix.
Oops is scheduled to premiere on Monday, 13 June as part of ‘YouTube Live at E3’. The song will be offered to fans on all major music services and will also be given way for free on his website.
Garrix also had some fun at YouTube Spaces in LA playing Mario Kart Wii-U against YouTube creators NadeShot, iJustine, TypicalGamer, iHasCupQuake, including a special appearance by hip-hop star (and YouTube creator) Logic.
You can watch the videos from Garrix’s Mario Kart Wii-U battles on creator channels leading into YouTube Live at E3 on Monday, June 13.
Here’s an exclusive video interview with him in which he talks about his love for gaming and the creation of Oops.
