Major League DJz complain about lack of government support
Major League DJz feel slighted by an unsupportive government.
Although the dynamic duo has delivered numerous popular concerts, they feel that the South African government offers no support to musicians making a difference on a grass roots level.
As can be seen in a series of tweets, the DJs reflect on how their efforts in successfully bringing thousands of people together seem to go unnoticed by the government.
“We bring the youth together in its numbers (thousands) come hail or snow…literally. Not once has any government department or anyone of sort supported us.”
In another tweet they mention Madiba himself and how he said that “We need to support those that are doing anything out of the ordinary.”
Show some love
The twins aren’t just DJs playing gigs but rather visionaries who bring forth concerts that unite thousands of people. In fact, their events are among the most anticipated events of the social calendar.
It’s not all rosy though as they have experienced a relatively alarming issue surrounding thuggery at these concerts in which partygoers were mugged upon exiting the festive area.
Naturally they have increased security, though it is still a stress factor for the young entrepreneurs.
See, the Major League men aren’t necessarily after monetary support from the government, but what would help is if they could get assistance regarding security/police and infrastructure- surely something the government has power over?
Either way, they won’t let this deter them from rocking out!
Anyway we going to rock. With or without support. Numbers don’t lie. And our people don’t too. And there again. Support doesn’t mean monetary value. But support with state infrastructure, JOC, JMPD etc…..

Songstress K Naomi tweeted some encouraging words to the DJs, reminding them of where their true support lies…with fans!
P.S Use your connections wisely…
You have friends in the same industry who can help you out.BUT at the end of the day without your supporters (people who buy actual tickets and come rock) there wouldn’t be anything, no matter who you have on board… https://t.co/cHb7yQl3Sf

Hopefully the government can realise how much potential lies with the Major League DJz.
