Maftown Heights Hip Hop Festival heads to Mahikeng
The 8th edition of Maftown Heights Hip Hop Festival will be held in Mahikeng for the first time.
On Friday, 8 December 2017 Africa’s premium Hip Hop festival, Maftown Heights, will take place in Mahikeng, the birth place of the Motswako genre that Maftown is founded on.
This will be a historical edition, taking place at the Mmabatho Stadium in Mahikeng in collaboration with Mahika Mahikeng.
Mahika Mahikeng Cultural Music Festival is the flagship arts and culture event for the Province of Bokone Bophirima, and will see its 3rd edition this year held from 5-10 December 2017, in Mahikeng, the Province’s capital.
Maftown Heights is an extension of the Mahiha Mahikeng Cultural Music Festival, with its doors opening at 4pm-2am.

Maftown Heights’ audience has grown from a humble 900 people attendance to an astronomical 10 000 people attendance, becoming a must-attend event in South Africa.
Maftown sees the forerunners of the Motswako genre on the line-up alongside Friends of Maftown, which is comprised of the biggest name in the entertainment game.
Maftown Artists includes Khuli Chana, Tuks and HHP and more.
Friends of Maftown include Bongo Muffin, Kwesta, Riky Rick, and more.
DJ’s include Major League DJz, Big Boy, Root, Black Motion and more.
There will also be ‘New Kids on the Block,’ featuring Solid T. B.O.G and more.
