Maftown Heights 2018: Woman falls to her death

Maftown Heights 2018 resulted in a fatal fall.

This past weekend saw the 2018 edition of the popular annual hip-hop concert, Maftown Heights. Although the music was pumping, and revellers were dancing, the event ended in grief as one attendee, an unidentified woman, fell to her death.

Chaos erupted when the rains came down and sent revellers running from the open field where they were dancing to seek shelter in the stadium stands, with some even invading the VIP marquees.

It is believed that during this time, the woman fell to her death from one of the high levels of Mahikeng Stadium, located in the North West.

Although no one saw it happen, the evidence points to this grim conclusion.

The investigation

“We are investigating a case of inquest following an incident in which an unidentified woman estimated to be in her twenties fell from Mahikeng Stadium at approximately 1am on Saturday. It appears she was discovered by a security official who alerted the emergency personnel and was still alive when they got to her, but sadly passed on while treated by a doctor on the scene,” said police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone.

“The deceased is wearing blue denim pants with black top written PARIS. She is also wearing black socks with grey stripes.”

Police ask that anyone with information that can help identify the deceased to contact him, so spread the word- no one deserves to go out like this and family and friends also need closure.
