Maceo Plex launches Ellum Black sub-label with next Mutant Series EP
Maceo Plex invites you to get dark and alien with Mutant 2.
Ah, the many shades of techno. From the fluffy to the dark and everything in between, techno has something for everyone.
If you’re looking for a darker shade of techno, look no further than Maceo’s Mutant EP series, which aims to explore a deeper, more intellectual side of the genre.
Mutant 1 was released on Jennifer Cardini’s label Correspondant in May, and now Maceo continues this journey with the release of Mutant 2, a two-track EP to be released on his own label.
Mutant 2 will be released on a sub-label stemming from Maceo’s parent label Ellum, aptly called Ellum Black.
Mutant 2
Mutant 2 features an A-side collaboration with Dallas-based duo Paradigm Shift called Mutant Pulse, which can be described as delicately rhythmic as well as hauntingly sensual. Mutant Pulse will also serve as lead single for the release, which is scheduled for 27 July, labelled Ellum Black Friday.
The release will be paired with a solo B-side, Mutant Radio.
Backed by black, Ellum Black has scheduled another release for the label; Architectural will release a 3-track EP titled A Girl With No Friends, due for release on Friday, 17 August.
For now you can feel the pulse of darkness with Maceo Plex featuring Paradigm Shift- Mutant Pulse.
