Mabala Noise Response to Riky Rick is swift and unforgiving
‘Twars’ (Twitter wars) seem to be where the real action is these days and the Mabala Noise response to Riky Rick’s tweets about leaving the label and the state of SA music was swift and harsh.
Not sure what we’re talking about? Read this first.
It is alleged that Riky Rick’s main gripe is that he has been left off the Mabala Noise event to celebrate the label’s massive haul of winners at this year’s Metro FM Awards.
Most of the winners came from the Mabala Noise label. This in itself has caused its own controversy. Media claims suggest that the label paid 10 million rand to Metro FM for its artists to dominate the awards.
Allegations of buying the awards have been rampant and two days ago a ‘hack’ showing the ‘real winners’ was ‘leaked’ by SA Hip Hop blog on Twitter.
This has since been disputed as false by SABC spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago.
Pulling no punches
But the Mabala Noise response to Riky’s rants can’t be disputed.
The actual dispute itself is very definitely real and as is often the case these days, the war of words is being done on Twitter.
Right now it looks like a legal battle could be on the cards unless Riky backs down.
Here’s the Mabala Noise response from management;
“Riky is still a part of Mabala Noise. We cannot control what Riky says on social media but he has signed a contract that is valid for the next 3 years.”
The Mabala Noise response goes further with co-owner Reggie Nkabinde tweeting the following;
“A dog comes hungry in your yard, feed it but the minute it shines it goes back to the master, that’s how ungrateful bastards behave.”
This Tweet may have since been removed but not before it was screen grabbed by some eager media.
Here are some more choice tweets by Nkabinde, clearly aimed at Ricky.
Seeking public sympathy is wrong,if u have problems wit yo employer take legal action/just quit the job properly.. don’t pull public stunt!!
