Loco Dice & Bridges for Music fundraising campaign for a Soweto youth centre
Techno DJ/producer Loco Dice in his continued partnership with Bridges for Music is supporting a fundraising campaign for the Kliptown Youth Center in Soweto.
The Kliptown Youth Center was founded back in 1987 by a sixteen year old Bob Nameng. Over the last thirty years it has continued to be a place of peace, hope, and most of all inspiration to the young people in the community. Centers such as these form an integral part in bringing the young people of a town together in a way that is positive and productive.
Bridges for Music is looking to raise some much needed funds for the Kliptown Youth Center and Loco Dices himself has grown quite attached to this initiative after his visit to South Africa.
“The Kliptown Youth Center is a heart-felt issue, which really moved and inspired me. I feel my African roots, and I remember how important a local youth center in my hometown Düsseldorf was for me. There is music in the Kliptown Youth Center and there are kids who otherwise might not have a chance to create and express themselves.” Said Loco Dice
It started with a Black Coffee remix
This new motivation for Loco Dice came when he was made an offer to remix Black Coffee for Get Physical Music earlier this year. He decided to set aside his remix fee for the development of a new youth center website. Together with Bridges for Music, they are hosting a fundraising page so that you and everyone else can get involved and help support this cause.
You can get involved and support them on the fundraising page. You can also learn more about the Kliptown Youth Center and the community driven Bridges for Music.
