LittleGig the twenty four hour eclectic festival
LittleGig is a twenty four hour eclectic festival that is all about music, food, and design.
LittleGig takes places at the Wiesenhof farm in Stellenbosch from 28-29 January 2017.
The line-up will include Culoe De Song, Seth Shwarz (a German DJ/violinist), and Captain Plant (a DJ/producer from Los Angeles), and singer/songwriter Nakhane Toure.
The organisers don’t have stage ideas mapped out in the typical way that one would normally expect. Instead, they will have seven separate areas that will pop up as the event progresses.
New features for 2017
For the 2017 event they have added a bunch of new features. You could party on the lake’s island where they will host a Tropical Bass Bar playing rare African vinyl music.
A DJ Art Car will play the sundowner set on the island, with the vehicle moving to a secret forest location after midnight. There’ll be a raspy-voiced blues-rock songstress belting it out in a late-night gin speakeasy; an identically-styled female trio DJing a vintage set in the festival fashion concept store.
They will also feature a fourteen piece reggae band in the forest; a classical flautist playing to Motown vinyl in the hair and make-up salon; and an international violinist/producer/DJ on a basketball court.
Their ideas seem pretty authentic and appealing and it’s really nice to see and event stepping outside the box.
