The lights are going out on AKA’s Beam Group
AKA’s Beam Group will no longer shine.
“We are on a mission to deliver organic, profitable and sustainable growth for our partners and clients by leveraging the tools, resources and expertise at our disposal to connect our brands, as well as those of our clients, to the consumers,” reads the mission statement on Beam Group’s website.
After weeks of speculation surrounding the state of the Beam, AKA has officially come out to announce that the company he started with Prince Nyembe is closing its doors.
AKA took to Twitter to make the announcement, saying the (his) company “no longer represents or manages me in ANY capacity,” he said. Basically he is no longer representing himself.
He then went on to say:
“We started the company with the best of intentions unfortunately it’s just not working out for me the way I wanted it to … so I’m taking my ball and going to play elsewhere.”

AKA chalked it up to the nature of all businesses the company was just not working out, so he has to let go in order to pursue other things.
Then in true AKA fashion he went on to talk about how the business was pointless because he was the “business.”
The truth is, AKA is really the “company”. So having a company is actually quite pointless since I’m AKA.

Just last month AKA and his now ex-partner Prince had to dispel rumours that they were fighting causing speculation over the state of the company.
“When I bump into people and they ask me what’s going on there and if we (he and Kiernan) are okay. There’s no fighting between me and Kiernan.
“I know there’s people saying stuff happened between Blaq Smith and Kiernan or us. No, nothing happened. The guys are okay. Kiernan always likes to empower people,” Prince said on YFM.
Fight or no fight, AKA’s Beam Group won’t shine anymore.
