LED Lashes – the next big rave fashion accessory
Everybody’s doing it so you should too! Just kidding we haven’t seen anybody with these yet but the LED Lashes are bound to make an appearance on SA’s electronic music scene at some stage.
AfrikaBurn seems the most likely place one would spot LED lashes. If there’s one place LEDs and glowsticks are very popular it’s in Tankwa Town!
F.Lashes is the official name of these flashing eyelashes and they are lightweight and interactive.
Various modes include scroll, dance and sparkle, all of which can be changed with the press of a provided button.
Now before you rush out to place your order for these LED lashes they are still a prototype and will only be available from mid-July via a Kickstarter funding campaign.
The lashes will come in pink, red, blue, light blue, white, yellow and green and include a watch battery and small little controller to change the LED program.
Each eyelash is connected with almost invisible thin wires and they can be applied to one’s own lashes using eyelash glue. They take no more than 2 minutes to apply say the makers.
Are they safe?
Unless you’re in a dark room (very likely if you’re out on the rave) the light, they say, is not blinding and hardly noticeable.
They also don’t emit any heat so pose no danger to one’s eyes and are completely sweat proof, another plus when dancing the night away. They are not, however, waterproof so no dancing in the rain, kids!
Would you wear LED lashes to the next party?
