Kwesta denies doing drugs
Kwesta denies doing drugs after a video clip of his early morning interview with Metro FM on The Real Phat Joe show surfaced online. People took to social media and accused him of having been high because he spoke slowly and appeared tired in the clip.
The Katlehong born musician says that he enjoys drinking quarts of beer but Kwesta denies doing drugs saying he is just not into them.
He said…
“I do not do drugs and neither does anyone in my crew. I do not like people who spread lies. I was performing at Taboo in Sandton where Afro-pop duo Mafikizolo was having an event. My performance was at 4am and my interview with Metro FM was at 7am. You can just imagine. I had not slept.”
Kwesta is well known for his track Ngud’ which is a local kasi name for a 750ml quart of beer. Clearly he has already admitted that he loves drinking beer and most likely having a good party too. But he wanted to let it be known that he and his crew are not into drugs at all, despite what people may think of the interview clip.
The hip hop artist seems to be aware that with success comes a certain degree of visibility that places him under a social microscope.
“I understand. Whether I do good or bad, people are going to throw punches. I am happy that I can now play at more places and reach a lot of people.” Said Kwesta
He is happy with the success of his Ngud’ track, which features superstar rapper Cassper Nyovest, and he also shared that he has been on an amazing journey.
Perhaps the artist will now pay closer attention to how he carries himself during live interviews, just in case the body language police might be watching.
This is why Kwesta denies doing drugs… watch his interview in which online youth magazine claims the rapper was ‘so lit.’
